Heck Yeah Art Party

Make art. Make friends. Make a mess. Offering artist demos, guest talks, friendships, and hands-on art biz support to help artists level up at every stage.

Monthly Creative Kick Start Meet-up

We kick things off with a different creativity warm-up, and each meet-up will feature either a guest speaker, an artist demo, or a rapid-fire show-and-tell. There will be fresh ideas, helpful insights, and that general creative kick-in-the-pants to spark new inspiration and help you regain momentum in your creative practice.

Who We Are

Rose Currie

Rose Currie is an award-winning, multidisciplinary artist from Vancouver Island whose creative journey has been shaped by resilience, passion, and a deep connection to art.

She has built a rich and diverse career as an artist, working as a scenic painter for theatre, designing prints for fabric and has a lengthy exhibition record. Her photography has been published, has won awards, and has been exhibited across Canada.

Currently, she focuses on painting iconic landscapes around Victoria. In the beginning, her paintings were a celebration of the city she lives in, but as Victoria changes, is deconstructed and rebuilt, her paintings have gained a sense of timeless nostalgia. Her scenes evoke a sense of calm serenity that we have on the West Coast. They have been noted as vibrant, cinematic and iconic. She welcomes you to experience Victoria through her eyes.

Jessa Dupuis

Jessa Dupuis is a collage and mixed media artist based in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Her practice is informed by over 20 years as a graphic designer, which shapes how she perceives, layers, and composes visual stories.

Her collage practice is playful, organic, and weird. Finding beauty, humour, and hidden stories in ordinary things.

Jessa believes creative people are the best people and is passionate about building community around creativity. She loves the magic that happens when cutting things up, making connections, sharing supplies… laughing, and arguing about glue! Her messy studio is full of weird, wonderful things, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Through her work, Jessa hopes to bring a little more joy, curiosity, and play into the world, and she believes creativity is good for your soul... for your mental and general health, and the world, honestly.
